Ulrich has 30 198's on the books. Delivery's will start taking place at the end of May.
There were calls by the hundreds for the 203 when it was discontinued...so Champion brought it back for 2008. It did not sell as well as the clamoring had indicated it would, so it was shelved again. IMHO Charger would do well watching how the 198 goes before adding a narrow beam to the line-up...but what do I know!!!
I'm not sure "narrow" sells in today's market. Sure, there may be some cult followers, but that a successful business does not make.

That's what everyone said when Champion was talked into bringing it back as the Limited Edition out in 2008. I don't think the buyers really showed up for it.[/QUOTE]
Charger is selling the 210's like hotcakes here and in Japan. Kelly said that they had orders for more than 50 198's. I am pretty sure that the 203 would sell as that is a fast Champion hull and there ape plenty of those who would like to see that style come back into production. Charger is doing it right!!!
There are lots of narrow front deck bass boats out there today and they are selling because they are fast. You may like the wide-body design but I guarantee that there are plenty of those who like the old narrower fast hull design. Do a better job at storage (put a full deck up front with rod storage in the center) and that boat would be both functional and fast. Would compete with the BassCats for sure (the Cats are certainly very fast).
