    Garmin echomap chirp 73sv

I just had this unit installed on my boat . It has the gt52hw-tm transducer . Was just wondering what settings everyone uses to get the best picture and readings . If I can start in the right ballpark it would make it less time consuming to dial it in. Thanks

Start with the Auto settings. Gain -Auto Medium. Contrast on SideVu - default. Brightness Auto Medium.
    Then go from there.
My wife asks if I'm going to fish every day. I can't fish every day. Some days I might be sick.

When I got mine last year, a couple of users suggested leaving everything on default and maybe bumping the GAIN a little. Pretty much what I did. Just remember what you are on and only change one thing at a time (return if it doesn't help) until you optimize the display for you and the day. I am thinking that any adjustment you make on say SV i.e. also impacts whatever other screen you may go to. One of the guys on crappie.com just plays with the contrast a bit and he has some awesome shots. All else on default.
