    Can't Back Up

    Not sure what brand Trailer..boat is a 2014 Skeeter
    Surge locks right up when I back up
    found that the blue wire was smashed in swing away tongue
    repaired with butt connector
    stilll acting up
    what else do i need to check?

    Probably a fuse in your tow vehicle for trailer backup lights.
    If you have integrity, nothing else matters. If you don't have integrity,

    Thx guys i sure have blown a lot of fuses in this truck hauling this trailer. 2014 f150
    never blew any fuses in my 5 other Silverados

    In the OP you said the wire was smashed to the point of needing a butt splice..
    Sounds like that caused a direct short -- you should be glad it blew the fuse.

    may want to replace that fuse with a matching circuit breaker? * electric tape that butt connector fix , then get split plastic wire loom, to cover that wear/rub spot

    *
    just get matching AMP needed
