Stuck Thrust Washer.....Please give me some Ideas

I have a 250 SHO that I want to change props on and do normal maintenance on. When I pulled the prop, I found the Thrust washer stuck. I tried prying it with a screwdriver, purchasing a 6" gear puller (not the best quality puller), claw hammer, nothing so far has popped this thing free.

I am sure I am not the only one with this problem. Any advice would be great.

I also need the part number for a new thrust washer just in case I ruin this one.

Brass punch. Hard hit on the rearward facing side of the thrust washer TOWARDS the front of the lower unit. It will pop free. Sounds counter intuitive to hit it onto the propshaft harder but that's the best way to remove them

Good question, I just assumed stuck to the propshaft since thats where they get stuck 95% of the time and he said he tried using a puller.

Here's what always worked for me. Lay a short piece of 2x4 on the edge of the gear case to protect it. Put a big screw driver or pry bar across the 2x4 under the spacer. Push down on the screw driver. Push hard. On the opposite side of the spacer tap with a small hammer. Note I said tap.

Had the same problem with mine. I took a hammer and tapped around the edges of mine and it popped free

Pry bar under the washer. Pry and smack with a hammer. You'll have to catch it as it comes free!
