    2001 bumblebee 2100 / 2001 Johnson 225 ho

Prop to pad 2 3/4". 25 tempest plus. Have had boat 4 years and can not get better than 62.8 mph. Rpm will run 6000 and still have more. Water pressure is 32 psi. Boat really doesn't have much bow lift but a hell of a hole shot. Have moved jackplate all the way to 3 1/2 pop. No real big difference. TryinG to get input as to what prop I should go to without buying different ones. Jackplate is 14" , was on boat when I purchased it. Can't get max rpm the way it is. Afraid or will over rev if I stay in it. Any help?

Your symptoms are a ton of prop slip. I'd start dropping the motor and see if I could find some lift and speed. Tempest should be a good wheel but yours might need a loving touch put to it.

I had the same boat the a 225 EFI. This boat needs a lot of bow lift to run. The Tempest runs really well. 25 to 27 depending on the engine, loading and such. Not familiar with the Johnson. Follow Pats advice, he knows. Also, know that your prop is right! Good luck!

Finally got on lake today. Boat ran great. Dropped motor prop to pad to 3 1/4 to start. 68.8 mph on gps and 5900 rpm. Water pressure still around 30 psi. Started walking pretty bad at 68 mph and water was ruff due to so much boat traffic. Was very pleased so far. Great hole shot also. Still had a little pedal left. Do I need to raise 1/4 to loose a little bow lift ?

Nope, What you need to do now is find your true potential, and until you can pilot at WFO, you'll never know what it is, so any changes you make will be unknown results.

Find yourself a seasoned driver who can spend a half hour teaching you to drive your rig, It's a lot like riding a bicycle, once you get it you'll have it for life, but until then you'll constantly be thinking something is wrong with your boat.

It's called a bumble bee bump.... Once that boat is up on pad its gonna be a constant bump on the wheel to keep it on pad and steady... That is once you have it trimmed out.... You can knock the trim back just a tad and it'll should run 68 all day smooth as silk... But to run that extra 4 mph you gonna have to drive it...

My 200 pro ran a 25 Solas at 5900 up to 71-72... With the tempest on there it was less lift and harder to drive... To overkill for a prop as I was told when I put it on there made it much easier to drive... And it was right around 3.25 below pad...
