    2000 201 Prop Pitch - Whadda running

I have a 2000 201 with a 225 Opti on it and I'm running a SS Trophy 26 pitch 4 blade and have also tried the same pitch in a 3 blade. I'm running mid to upper 60's but am still about 6-800 rpm away from my max. I'm having trouble power loading onto the trailer with this prop as it's bogging the motor down and wont rev up when loading on a trailer. I've tried a 25 3 blade and it loaded fine but I didn't pick up any rpm or speed. I'm thinking maybe a 24 but wanted to see what everybody else is running. I had a buddy switch to a 24 on his Champ and he said it made a world of difference in speed and hole shot for him.

I'm also running a 10 inch Bob's Hydro jackplate and have TDR power reeds in the motor.

25 tempest hit 71 tourney loaded solo in a 2001 201. Adjusted the jackplate up a 1/2inch When I went to the tempest

You could also send your 25 Tempest to Mark Croxton to get it balanced and blueprinted.

201 hull tends to run flat which is why most are running Trophy props, they tend to lift the whole boat up and not just the bow. You really need to get those last RPMs out of your motor. I have a 200EFI on mine, at 5800 I am running about 57 mph, but go to 62-6400 and the boat lifts out of the water enough to get that last bit of speed. It's been awhile since I have opened it up for max speed, but when I did I was bouncing between 68 and 69.

I think if I took the Bass Pro shops plastics section out of my starboard rod locker and with some work I have done to the motor I could hit 70-72. Rev limiter was moved to 6800.
