    Dobyns users chime in please.

I'm in need of a frog rod. I was using an old falcon Carolina lizard dragger II that I got one of my friends to put micros guides on (broke it) . It had some backbone (honestly could have been a tad stiffer) but a softer tip that made accurate casting easy and super easy to "walk the frog". Anyone have any suggestions on a good dobyns frog rod with similar action? Looking to stay under $300.

I'm thinking the Savvy micro 735C 7'3". I do like the idea of micro guides again because all it will see is braid.

This is the rod in a micro rod. I am not a fan of the micro guide rods, but that is just a personal preference.

This is the rod I would go with because it is a little lighter.

The Champion 735 is also a good rod but in the 250 range. I think the Sierra is still lighter.

I go with the higher price rods when I need a rod with more feel. I usually buy the Extreme series then.

Contact board sponsor sportsman's outfitter for a great deal on one. I love mine as it is an all purpose rod for anything that has to do with being in heavy cover, or being heavy in weight. Even tied on a crankbait in a pinch and it did awesome lol.

I like Dobyns so far....I've had more experience with Powell and the quality and customer service has been great over the last 10-12 years. Love the 734 max model for an all around southern rod.

The dobyns savvy 735! I have a sierra and champ 735 and like the savvy better for frogs. Just like you wanted, it has a softer tip to cast a frog a lot bette imho.
