Well Fred, there is always residual oil in a new pump, whether it's from testing or in the building process, sometimes it takes several minutes of running before the no oil alarm beeps. I know that you know this process, the manual calls it residual oil and that's good enough for me. I learned the don't pump the oil bulb to check the self priming from Mr Seahorse. Sometimes I have wondered what spins around in your, as you say, little mind, but I do know that it's all good. Now don't put me on that ChampioNman list.

Ok, got it installed and tested in the driveway. Impulse made me pump the oil bulb before I started it, but I pumped it up, then disconnected it and ran it empty of oil with a cap over the oil intake (I already have 50:1 in the tank) and it NO OIL alarmed after about 5-6 minutes of running perfectly, minor throttle increases etc. not hard, but revved to about 3500, smooth powerband all the way. Shut it down, hooked the oil line back up and didn't pump the primer bulb and NO OIL alarm cleared in seconds from starting, so I think I'm good to go. I know driveway test on the muffs is not an end all test, but I will water test this weekend...

Thanks for the direction again guys, your input is greatly appreciated...
