Question about New Etec 115 HO or 115

My 2010 90 Etec lower is in need of replacement. I buggared out the vent hole and while testing the pressure for a temp fix I found its leaking from seals also. The motor is only worth $4300 if I can sell it for that to someone. A new case is $1400 plus labor to swap the gears and replace the seals. I can get a new one for $3100 online.
I'm starting to think that it may be time to just part it out and buy a new 115 hp. I'll have a new warranty and my boat is under powered with the 90 hp. I was hoping to wait for a G2 version but that may be another 2 years.
Would you get the 115HO or the 115?
My hookup will be easy just cables, ignition and nmea network. How is water pressure for a 115 hooked up.?

Would you fix the 90 and keep it and wait for a G2?

It's a tough choice to make.

Be cheaper if you sent the case down to Gearcase man and have him fix it for you, then wait and see what happens down the road.

Need to think about re-sale too unless you're totally crazy about the boat.

Boat is a 2014 Triton Aluminum. It's a great boat for a guy like me that does not fish competition and just for fun.

Talked it over with the Mrs. She thinks we should go with a new 8 year warranty also. Waiting for the bank to approve a loan which I'm not too concerned about. Just gonna trade in the 90 and get what I can for it. It has been a very reliable motor for me, but I was going to upgrade at some time anyways.

    Some questions though.
Water pressure sensor that plugs into the EMM, or just use a water hose to the transducer sensor I have for my 90 hp in the bilge?
I noticed a few adds for a 2016 115 ho with 2.44:1 gears 20". I know they are not issued by year anymore but did they use a different gear case that model run? Would there be an advantage to getting that case over to 2:1?
Is there anything about a 115 ho or 115 that I need to watch? I've read about the exhaust port issues of the past, seems they have that fixed though.
I'm leaning towards a 115 ho over the 115. The price difference online is less than $700. Is there advantage to one over the other?

I just got a quote for an ETEC 115 HO under $10,000.
    Water pressure kit at $175
About 4 hour install at $119/HR

He won't take my 90 ETEC on trade but will sell it for me on consignment at 10%. Using his dealer network access.

I told him I'd be in Monday to get it on paper and put some money down. I thought it sounded like a fair price.

    What say you?

That would be a perfect motor for a pontoon boat!

I just realized you probably meant the 90 hp not the new 115 HO. I thought you were ribbing me a lil. I'm not so bright sometimes. LMAO
Yes the 90 would be a good pontoon motor.

Went in, put the money down. He called BRP and got the answer every new customer wants to here. "We will contact you when we have a ship date"

Maybe I should walk to BRP and start passing out 50 dollar bills
Or I could ring the door bell everyday and ask if my motor is ready yet

Guess i gotta wait in line like everybody else.......

Engine was delivered to dealer late Friday. Dropping boat off Tuesday am. Dealer said his goal is to have it done by the weekend.

I'm putting in the oil tank and running the oil hose and deutcsh wire out to the splash well.
I'm also running a new water hose from water pressure transducer in bilge (nmea network) to splash well. PN 5008640 water pressure kit is on national back order, according to dealer. So this will have to do for now.
I'm assuming he can use the 90 hp power cord for the new HO?
Also TCW3 setting with XD100 oil for HO?
Hopefully this will make the swap easier and cost less labor.
Any other suggestions? I can't really unhook the 90 hp because he wants to test it first, for commission sale.

Did you get a larger oil tank? Guess I don't understand why you're installing a new tank? Couldn't the new tank go with your trade/consignment?

My 90hp didn't have a remote tank. I got it in. It is cramped in there but its in. Took me 3 hours. 2) 27M in Parallel for 12v Terrova (upgrading to Ultrex Next after the bugs get worked out), 31M Starting Battery, 1.8 gallon oil tank.

Also my Motormate doesn't fit the new lower unit on this motor it's to small. Is there a bracket like the one for the G2?
