Jon boat to bass boat project

Found me a good deal on a 1648 jon boat with a 25hp Mercury 4 stroke and decided to convert it into a little fishing machine. Mainly going to use it on smaller lakes or big lakes if the wind isn't too bad Was pretty much a plain jon boat when I bought it and I am happy with how it is coming along so far. I put a recessed foot pedal tray in and have a 55lb foot control TM going on it soon with a 52" shaft so I can hold in the waves without cavitating too bad! Will post some more pics once I get it all carpeted and finished up.

Looking nice. I myself have one I'm going to redesign. I'm thinking I'm gonna use 1/8" aluminum instead of wood.

Aluminum would probably be better honestly, I just don't have good access to aluminum that I would need. All together all the wood decks added 90 lbs to the boat, with that and batteries, motor and everything I still have about 580 lbs of people weight which is good for me

Looks like fun. I did one a few years back and it was a perfect little bass boat. Looking forward to seeing more.

Here's my build thread if you're interested.
