Needed or not? Changing reeds on a 225pro xs

Is there a need to put in new feeds at a certain hour usage ? Munich motor doesn't seem to have any issues just wondering. And if so should they be aftermarket or Merc brand?

A 225 ProXS should have fiber reeds installed. Post your serial number and the experts can verify. No real reason to change them unless they are chipped or out of tolerance. There should be symptoms with that though. If you just want to replace them, buy a set of TDR reeds from Don.

+1- see the Forum Announcements, and be sure to provide the REQUIRED info when posting.

If your engine has carbon-fiber reeds (very likely it does), there is no need to change them unless they are damaged, broken, etc.

Can I piggyback? How do you see the reeds for inspection purposes ? Mirror on a stick or is there an easier way?

You must remove the Plenum to inspect correctly.....no other way to do it right.
