First off, your planning issues might be due to too much prop. I turn a 26p trophy plus on a 200 carburetor motor.
Secondly, if your turning a Trophy Plus; you should have the PVS holes. How many holes are plugged?
Third, how many rpm's are you turning while trying to plane?
Also, all of the BS you hear and read about these boats liking to have the motor ran deep are crap. Your boat might/will run and plane different that anybody else's hull.
I have a 206 model that had chine walking issues. I moved my batteries to the center compartment right up against the back wall of the center compartment. That was done courtesy of Mike Price's advice.
