I should add, I really like the white and blue colors

I agree it's a 188d however, I have a 1997 188 and my stripes are completely different.
Tom
Good eye. The stripes on this one look just like the stripes on my '96
Check out the last four numbers on the identification plate on the rear right hand side of the transom and it will tell you what year your boat is. Your boat is either made in 1995 or 1996 because that's the old John Storie stripe.
I thought I would be on Easy Street by now but somehow I missed the off ramp!
Its a 97. The title says model year 97 built year 96. last two digits are 97.
built june 96.... last 4 are F697
Looks like a nice buy for the options.
Sounds like I should have a good buy then
Going to be a good fishing machine. If the engine checks out that would be a good buy imo. Have you done a compression check on the engine yet?
Was able to track down the original order form.
Wow, awesome!
Did you buy it yet?
Not yet hopefully on Thursday it will be mine. The ownder is having an electical ignition part replaced, new water pump installed, and the lower gear unit oil is being changed since it hasnt been done in a couple years i guess. He didnt want to sell it to me not in tip top shape. I respect that from him. Shop should be doing the work today and should be picking it up later this week.
You are really going to enjoy your new to you boat.
I forgot got to ask if you have taken it out to test drive it?

The 150 will be okay on that boat, but it will leave a bit to be desired. If I were you, first chance you have to upgrade to a 200, I'd jump on it.
whats the max HP rating for the 188D? Is it 200? Not to worried about speed right now just looking forward to being on the water on bass boat! :)
Got a message from the owner today and boat just got finished being serviced. New oil in lower unit, new power pack and new water impeller.
I asked him what shop he took it to and called them. The guy at the shop was like oh the really clean cobra? lol he said it was in realy great shape and ran strong. Compression was 105, 110, 105, 105, 105, 100.
Mechanic was very informative and said i should get many years on out of it and to use it use it use it as much as i can lol.
For some reason when ever i type on this forum, it is slow to type and misses half the letters I input lol.
