Perception Pescador Pro 12 Sit-On Top

Anyone have any experience with the Perception Prescador Pro 12? Looking for some insight as I've got some REI points to burn and was thinking of using them towards this.

    Thanks,
    Jason

Not sure about that boat in particular but I have a Perception Swing that's quickly coming up on 20 years . I think it's a 13'. No complaints, sturdy boat, solid brand. And if you have points to get a good deal why not.

I have the 10 and love it. If you're looking at the 12 you should check out the Pilot, it has a pedal drive.

Yeah I saw that but I don't think it would be good for some of the shallow river I'll be hitting. If I were going to strictly lake fish it would be a no brained.

Yeah that thing would suck on a river. Nothing wrong with paddling.

I have the Pescador Pro 120 as a spare yak and my main yak is a Propel 10. Two other buddies own the Pilot 120 also. We fish rivers more than open lakes i'd say (70% river 30% lakes). Typically when we know we are going to do a float trip with rapids we just dont bring the drives along. Just because they came with the boat doesnt mean you need to bring it every time.

It would be a no brainer to get the Pilot if you have the funds. It essentially is 2 boats in 1. Also, it comes with a rudder whereas the Pro doesnt. And the Pilot is more stable than the Pro also.

I bought it! I'll post results after I get it wet and slimy. I think I'll actually put a graph on this one since it has the setup for it.

    Did you get one, Nattylite?

On the pilot, how hard is it to raise the pedal system if running into shallow water?

You just pull the pin and push the pedal unit forward, from the vids I've watched. I also looked at one at Scheel's. I want one, but unless I sell my bassboat, I'm just gonna paddle on small lakes for now.

You do have to line the pedals up with a mark on the drive unit to ensure that the prop will go up into the slot.

Thanks guys......Ya, really nice!! It pedals very well and so nice to have your hands free and not have a paddle in it. Ya they say u can go in as low as 18" of water while pedaling. They thought out the whole graph thing, will pre-driled holes with screws and a well for the transducer.... Only issue it catches short fish!!!
