Fish are slow getting started this year, pretty much the opposite of what most people apparently expected. We've had a ton of east-northeast winds, and when the wind has been south, it's been strong! That said, it's a great time of year to fish Erie, but we have a lot of extremely rough weather forecast this week, through at least Friday. Water temp will be dropping and the water will be muddying up. If it calms down for the weekend, it could be decent, and even if it doesn't there still will be fish to catch. But I doubt it will be awesome. Just too stormy for the fish to get settled.

I'm not surprised. Somebody always finds them. But the OP is headed up this coming weekend, and the weather is a little concerning at this point. Just hope it settles down a little by then. Yesterday was a classic warm/mild spell before the fronts. Definitely the time to be there!

21 lb is no big deal in a team/cheater circuit. Lot of spring pond fish make it to the scales somehow.

But to say someone cheated is a bold statement. Let's remember them fish up there are chunky pre spawn fish that haven't had any pressure yet. Keep that into consideration before you accuse someone of cheating strictly based on the weight

bold statement to say the least... I have been fortunate enough to fish Erie a lot in prior years...I have personally seen many 20+ pound bags of LM and they were legit.

Not fair observing from the cheap seats, Dan. Get in there and throw some opinions around!

I have known eriedude for a long time. I have no idea about nor information on the incident he is referring to. But, I do know he's not one to throw around wild accusations.

This time of year is a bad time to say someone is bringing in pond fish though... Pre spawn fish and 20 pounds is way more likely than 20 pounds in August after they have been molested for 4 months

I fish the Toledo division of the GLLS and they check everyone's live well before take off. I may be wrong but I would imagine the West harbor division would do that as well?
