    Anyone do any striper fishing?

I fish the bay a good boy and have always fished out of Northeast for bass. But I've been curious if it's worth the drive just to hook a few stripers. I know there's some areas off limits and such but what about throwing topwaters on the flats?

The catch and release season closes May 4 to May 15 on the flats. So it's quickly coming to an end. One season it's phenomenal and the next it's not much of anything. I wasnt able to get out this year for it so I don't know if I missed much. There is nothing like getting into schooling stripers on top water with bass gear.

Top water Zara Spooks, Chuggers, even large flukes. What's fun is one grabbing a 1oz. Rattle Trap about the time you think your retrieve is done.

This past week was really good. Keeper rock everyday. And some were too big to keep, over 26". As I was fighting in a 20"+ rock, there was a 40" with him. The biggest I caught was 30"+. Hard to measure with bass rulers that only go to 22".
