I just bought a Ranger 482v with a Fast Strike 150 4 blade prop (not sure of pitch). It gets out of the hole very fast and will do 60mph @ 5400rpm. I rarely have to navigate large shallow water areas. What benefits would I see with adding a jackplate? Does anyone think that it would be worth it to add a jack plate in the future?

Put an 8" plate on your TR196 if you have enough steering cable or hose to do it.
