Tell me more! Or at least say it again, while leaning back against the wall and tip your hat down just a bit

'Why don't you just use a trot line?' Says another person, not answering the original question, while leaning back and tipping his hat...

I believe the question was for a baitcast reel. Not a spinning reel or a closed faced spincast reel or anything else. What part of baitcast do people not understand?

Daiwa Pixy, Alphas SV, Alphas Air, SS Air, Alde BFS, Conquest BFS, or of course you can mod many Daiwa, Shimano, and Abu reels with aftermarket spools to cast BFS sized weights.

Japan Tackle when they become available. Check for sale boards, they pop up once in while as well.

TW had some off & on. Had a PX68 till they sold out of them.

I really hate using a spinning reel, the best bait caster I have personally used for very light stuff is a Lews tournament pro g and a curado 70.

You can buy a Pflueger President spinning reel for $65 or you can get a $400 Pixy and the President will still handle lighter baits better.

Yes but a spinning reel will handle lighter baits better than a spincaster or a baitcaster.

The Daiwa SV105 is an insane little reel for small baits, but the reel is only part of the equation ... you need a casting rod that can properly load & launch those light baits. Unfortunately you'll have to go JDM to find one. I'd look at Major Craft first as they have some affordable models and the workmanship is second to none.

If spinning reels are for sissy's then most of the elite anglers are sissy's

I'm a Rod builder so the rod will be no problem.

Please refer to original question. If I ask someone what the best crankbait to fish under a certain condition is , I don't want to hear I should throw a jig instead lol

A Shimano Calcutta TE 50 GT or Conquest 50 DC will satisfy your light line/light bait needs. I throw #5 & #7 Shad Raps and custom flat cranks in the 1/4 oz. range without any issue and with plenty of range. I've also seen them used in great shape for under a couple hundred to save that pain off the hip, if it matters.
