What the.... Mercury Documentation Problem

Regarding engine oil
Sticker on engine states both 10W-30 and 25W-40 good for all temps
Owners manual 10W-30 recommended for all temps, 25W-40 allowed at temps above 40
Service manual 25W-40 recommended for all temps, 10W-30 allowed at temps below 40

Now, I am leaning toward the 10W-30 because I will have lots of starts/stops, short trips etc..., and will probably never run the engine 30 minutes at a time or a hundred hours per year. Just thought the documentation discrepancies were a little ridiculous.
Any thoughts about the 10W-30 based on my use?? I know in actuality either is probably fine.
