    Changing minnkota yoke

    Hi
The yoke on my Minnkota Maxxum cracked and I have the replacement part. Minnkota says to heat the pin holding it to release the Loctite holding it in place? Has anyone done this? Any recommendations?
    Thanks

John Jones will know. Since the part is plastic, and there is little stress on it, I will ASSUME the pin that holds it in is a press fit held in with Loctite as an anchor. Loctite will release if heated but the part is plastic so you'd have to be careful not to deform it. If you can determine if one end of the pin is larger than the other, heat the aluminum both sides with a torch, not an oxyacetylene, just propane or Mapp gas, and use a hammer and drift pin punch to tap it out.
