200efi coil packs

Hey Guys,

I was on water Sunday. Boat was running fine (first time out) started back after day of fishing, was on plane doing about 60 when I had loss of power (not total). I shut the motor down, restarted and it would not get on plane again. I had ECU replaced one year ago. Mechanic I called said it sounded like coil pack. When I asked how to check them he said he uses a timing light (which I have) and he goes down the lake with someone on back of boat checking each pack.
I need to know I there is an easier way to check these.

Motor is 2002 efi 200 serial number 0T53938

just check it on hose if its missing/ check compression first
