What sucks is all the folks who have order 17 year models months ago and won't get em until when 18s are already coming out......Will they just badge them as 18's then????

That was what I was thinking too. Might as well wait and get the 2018. The place I'm ordering from said I will still get the Merc 5 year warranty. There will be a price increase of course.

We do not change pricing on 2017 orders built as 2018 models. The dealer meeting boats break up the time frame on model years generally. The 2017 model year has some room for more orders and the Eyra is tightest on availability with few in the field and fewer available the remainder of the 2017 season. This was the reason the draw boat in Guntersville was upgraded to the Cougar FTD model.

So, does that mean I can order an 18 now and get the 17 price? I wouldn't want a mis-matched motor and boat. That is, an 18 boat with a 17 engine.

They go into a dead period at one point due to dealer programs, though yes you can order one now at present pricing.

Well why do you see ads like this one from the boats for sale page: 15 Pantera II 14 200 Merc Pro XS. All the ads say 16 Classic with a 16 Mercury Pro XS or whatever year and boat that is for sale.

Engines are production years by CY, not model years for more than a decade on Yamaha and Mercury. Basically a born on date, which state agencies have misconstrued to be the model year on some titles.
