    20xd setup

The age old question I know. But thanks in advance for any replies. I own a 1999 20xd w/ a 2007 225 pro xs. 36v minn Kota 101. 12" rapid jack with 3" of extra standoff. I am running a 27 tempest prop, TM 1.75 lower, and as of right now 1 1/2" below. Loaded 2 people With the 27 tempest 78mph @ 6k. with 25 lbs of h2o pressure. What are some of yalls setups on a 20xd that is still quick as it can be out of the hole, but still have top end. Also what props run best in yalls opinion?

Youre runnin heavy with that troller and the extra battery so take that into consideration when somebody recommends that 28 bravo or XOB.

xpress x19, 200ho G2, aluminum sawtooth cut prop, paper sack tackle storage, ugly stik pro team, color c-lector

When I ran a 2006 pro xs 225 on my XD with a TM plugged a few holes on water intakes and ran even with pad or just above. If I remember right. Spun a 28 hydro if running solo ready to fish. I think 83-84 at best.

i have similar boat and motor. 98 20xd with 2006 225 sport xs. sportmaster and 1.62s being difference. only 24 volt trolling motor. but also hardly no room to
put any more junk in it not balanced as it should be and all of that. with hydraulic plate I have seen 84 for a moment with a borrowed 26 hydromotive. was in cooler months though.
can run trophy to 82-83 most days. I was hoping to see 85 just never did. my high speed runs probably over til fall winter. I believe 86 might be obtainable with
a better prop and boat diet. some have seen more out of similar set up I have not. im upwards of 1.5 to 1.75 above pad. I am sure tempest is not best prop.
guys with much more experience than me.

Thank y'all for getting back with me. The tempest is not the best prop for this setup. I have ran a 27 fury and seen 80-81. I am thinking about trying a 28. I'm already running 6k at Wot and the higher I come the more rpms she'll turn. I really don't wanna turn it any higher than 6. I am just not sure about holeshot loaded woth livewells full and two people with a 28. I guess just pull all the vents and let it eat. Lol

we messaged on FB but you need to come up with motor and a larger/stiffer prop will equalize the rpm gain.
Plug top 4 holes on lower and raise it. I ran a 27 pro max 1/2" below the pad when I owned that boat.
You want to plug the vents on your prop if your hole shot sucks.
That boat should be running low 80's all day. It has before with the same load.

Fury and tempest are the wrong prop for that boat IMO.

If you are that high with a trophy, you better have a spare prop lol
