    Aldebaren 50hg casting issue

    I just purchased an aldebaren 50 hg brand new from an authorized retailer and it is casting drastically shorter distance than my stock core 50s with the same line lure and rod. I have one internal brake on and the side dial set to two with the cast control knob loose. Is there something i need to check or lube to get this thing casting right before i return it?

    Make sure the spool bearings are oiled and spinning correctly and also its good that there's no extra grease on the spool shaft.

    Will do that as soon as i get home. My chronarch mgl was a rocket launcher straight out of the box I kind of expected the same from the aldebaren

    In my experience, just about every new JDM Shimano I ever received needed to have at least the spool bearing cleaned/flushed and re-oiled with a quality bearing oil. It helped improve performance dramatically on all of them.
