Did you have Steve build any rise in the plate? When I had a 10" static plate I had 5" rise built into it for my previous rig.

That's a good point Dean; How far of range do you really need on our boats? Do you guys need five inches of jack plate adjustability?
With all the testing I performed on my orange 2+2, I never needed more than 2 inches of vertical travel.

Seems you could really make a sturdy jack plate if it was only designed to allow 2 to 3 inches of adjustment.............an 1 1/2" below to an 1 1/2" above would serve me well........

You can adjust the safety stop on the plate to remove vertical travel if needed.

I didn't ask for any prejack as I didn't feel it was needed on the Ally because we are not running 3" above pad, but Steve will custom build any amount of prejack needed


With my engine mounted in the middle set of holes I had to run my CMC dang near all the way up.

Ill be in Clifton, TN Thurs - Sunday this week for the Smoke on the Water Rally. The river is rising but hopefully the drift won't be an issue. I plan to do some shake down runs on Thursday and go over all of the hardware that night and then make some passes with several different props on Friday/Saturday.

I mounted the lss2 to the LSS plate:



A few pics from the gauge install.

I made a jig to help keep the hole saw straight while I enlarged the hole. The cmc gauge used a 2" hole and the new Livorsi gauge required a 2-5/8" hole.



Pulled the wheel, hub, and pro trim. I was able to rotate the pro trim and tie it off to one of the windshield bolts...this kept the pro trim from rubbing against the drill chuck.



I just sat the gauge in the hole for now, I ran out of time today....I'll pull the sending unit harness up through the boat and route it to the gauge and tie it all up tomorrow afternoon.




I am almost done! Just need to secure the gauge, route and finish the wiring, and secure the cables coming from the jackplate. I plan on using 3/4" black wire loom from the transom grommet to the jackplate to clean things up.

Tim, you are a very busy guy. Come out here and fix my jack plate gauge. I just use it for ref when it works otherwise I look at the painted lines on the plate. You've done some nice work on your Alli.

I don't know the specifics but it looks like formed alum that has been painted. I'm sure Tim will clarify.
