Sounds like the motor may need a tune up on the computer to see if it's getting WOT. Is the boat new to you and do you know if these fuel line up grades where ever done. http://www.bbcboards.net/showthread.php?t=22490

Yes, you are well below what a 225 XS could run on this rig. Should be at least mid 60's. Try different props and have motor checked. 25 Tempest should be a few more RMP's

I bougth the boat and motor separate as I mention run pretty good. Very good hold shot no more than 5 seconds with tournament load and full tanks it achieve the 60's with 5000 rpms but If I want to continue triming it star chine walk. My perception based on mitot position is that it can be trimmed more but I dont do it due chine walk.

At what elevation are you running the boat? That effects the top rpm's and with that boat you may be better off with a 24" tempest especially if you run heavy all the time since a tempest will carry a load better than a fury.

Elevation is around 1200 ft I will try to get a Tempest 24" to see if rpms and speed change. As I mention I feel the motor as more trim margin but boat start moving or chinewalk badly.

You'll never gt much speed from that boat because it's heavy and was made to fish out of not run fast. The 24" should be a little faster because the tempest will give it some bow lift that a 521 needs.

If everything is right with two people and your not carrying too much extra weight. Have you checked to see if your getting wide open throttle on the motor? Do you have a hot foot and is it allowing all the peddle travel you need? New plugs, filter and fuel lines?

It's only supposed to have one filter the red top one under the cowl not an extra inline water separator. You need a special tool to change it out that only costs $5.00 but the filter costs from 12 to 40 depending on where you buy it.

I'd jack it up a bit and see what happens...No rooster tail!
