No. Are you connecting the power cord without the cable collector attached?
It has to be the correct orientation with the tab pointed upwards. Reversed and it won't work.

I also tried my 797 power cord (working unit at console). Still won't power up with that power plug either
A trip to Humminbird will fix it.

Evidently you have voltage for a meter reading which is no load, but don't have the current carrying capacity to run the unit--loaded amps.
You need to re-do your power connections which includes extending the power cords directly to the battery with at least 14 gauge wire and put a 3A spade type fuse at the battery in a water proof holder.
The 797 has less amp draw and should be connected directly to the battery also.
The alternative is to install a dedicated electronics fuse panel and connect both units to that.

I found the problem and figured I would give an update. Hopefully it will help someone else if they encounter this. My boat is a 2000 Triton and the factory connection at the bow was corroded. After cleaning and flaring the pins a little, it works fine.
Thanks for posting the update. So were you using power through that connection to power up the unit?
