Raised motor on jackplate...now I have a popping sound?

I have a new popping sound as if the motor is in a bind on the transom...I raised the motor 3/4 inch on a slidemaster jackplate on a Z18...I put the motor down to the ground...loosened side bolts...and turned main bolt in center...tightened the four back on the side...and now a popping sound....

I think you are hearing your trim rods grinding. Put some grease on the end of your trim rods and see if it goes away.

Is it making the noise while you are trimming it up or down? If so, grease end of your trim rods like Dale said.
