I ended up with an "All aboard" type ladder(s) as I really liked the way it stows and I did not want to drill any more holes in my boat(s) to mount them. That being said, several folks use the type of a ladder that you describe as I know they are easier to use. Here's a couple of threads from folks that use that type and shows how they mounted them and what they needed to do for their install.
