    2012 Phoenix 619 or 2017 Nitro z18

    Hi guys
Been looking around at my first bass boat and have found the 2 mentioned above, the phoenix has a 200 pro xs with the nitro running a 150 pro xs, both have standard electronics, i no phoenix is better ride and qaulity but its also 5 years older and i want to keep this boat for a fair while without losing to much value due to age, ive also heard the z18 is higher quality then the z7, the phoenix is also $4,500 more anyway just looking for some opinions and feedback, cheers.

With out a knowing the price its hard to say what to do.
Phoenix is better and more expensive than a Nitro
    A 200 is better than a 150.
    Extra???

It's funny I'm going through the same thing in my head...

    2017 Phoenix 618 Pro or 2017 Ntro Z18 or Ranger Z188

All of them have a place in heart. One has better resale around here (Ranger), one is newer and seems to be a rising star (Phoenix), and one is a familiar family as I have a Nitro 700LX in the garage.

I've been looking long and hard. Phoenix seems to have some pretty good offerings, Nitro is somewhat stripped down and to rig the way I want will increase the cost higher, Ranger is higher in cost than all 3.

In your choices, I would go with the Z18 only because of warranty and less hours on the motor. And you can take that $4500 and upgrade the electronics and add the Ultrex trolling motor w/ spot lock.

If the Phoenix was a couple years newer and had less hours on the motor I would say Phoenix. In your case I would get the Nitro. Use the sayings on electronics and trolling motor upgrade. Plus you get a new engine warranty.

The Phoenix will be a better boat but I think you could find one a little closer to the price of that nitro and probably a little newer.

Dam, not sure where you are located but that seems high....i bought my '14 619 for less than that last year......it only had 4 hrs on motor and warranty......yikes......sounds kinda high for a '12 model....

I was in a Skeeter SX190 w/150 for 11 yrs....great boat but when i stepped up to the Phoenix it was a whole different class....yes everything is bigger and faster.....

These are two different size/class boats. 18.5/150HP againsta 19'/200HP.

If I was planning on keeping a boat for a long time, I would be looking at apples to apples for my needs. I am already in a 150 class boat and now 2 years later I know I want a 19'/200+ for my needs. Its a lot of $ either way so just be sure it meets your requirements. Both might.

I think he might be in New South Wales, Australia. So just getting the boat there is a big expense. Might be helpful to know if he has to ship the boats over on his own dime or if either of them is already in country. I can see a Nitro being quite a bit less than a lower volume brand due to their ability to work in higher volumes. But just guessing.

Oh ok.....then my thoughts of pricing would be out the window.....i see that it would be hard to put a price on something that across the world....

bird is too high and I own one. I'd keep looking. You should be able to get a 3 year old 618 bird ( which is comparable) to the z18 a for $26k used. My 2014 has 65 hours on it. I would think 200 hours the most could accept.

I'd say keep looking and strike nitro off the list period.

A lot of people like nitro and a lot dont. For 28000 and adding what you want your going to be looking at around 32k. I would find similar size boats to the z18 and compare it to a bass cat sabre, ranger z185, pheonix 618, triton 189 TRX. Also may be able to find a left over 2016 for less as well. Shop around and look at all of them. There are a lot of great rigs out there. Test them out and enjoy the best for you

You must not have gotten my sarcasm. Nothing at all wrong with nitro's and I get sick of them getting bashed on here.
