    you are comparing apples to oranges,these were the carb version of the much improved 200efi with motorola 60 amp electrics,early versions were 5850,then in 03 i started seeing 5900,and 2 of my 04's are 6050, Mercury tweaked the limiters on this generation of the 2.5 ,the carbed versions maintained the 40 amp system thru the end.

    Are you saying that the 1995 200 xri (2.5) came with a 60 amp alternator charging system? Perhaps you are thinking of the 3 liter 225 xri?

    no i'm not confused,the xr6 carb motor,shown here, is an 02 model,the 02 200 efi is a 60 amp motorola motor,the 95xri is an older 40 amp system,totally different animal.
