I just purchased a LiftSaver for my Xi5. It is very well made. I have not installed yet but look to be simple if I can break loose my existing seized stainless bolts on my old mount

I have been a little critical of the XI5 foot pedal in previous posts. I still don't like it, but overall, I have to agree with you that this TM is awesome. My boat is fully loaded, kicker motor, elect. down riggers,etc.. I see the XI5 as the single biggest improvement in enjoying my day on the water. Hoping it proves to be reliable, it has so far, and the next version solves the foot peddle issues.

I installed my new Riptide Ulterra onto my flats boat with the MK 47 sliding mount. My problem: the plates would slid nice until I bolted on the 70lb. motor and the friction of alum. to alum.makes sliding it back and forth very difficult. Tried lightly brushed on bearing grease and did not help much. Anyone else with this problem and whats the fix?

I was informed about this problem when I purchased a Ulterra. I got a slide plate that is used by Skeeter on there boats don't Rembrandt the name but it's a precision machined plate.

So I am in the same boat as many others and doing my own research on here for the best setup to mount my xi5 on my 2010 Nitro Z-7. My question is since this LIFTSAVER MOUNT has been out and put under a lot of research by you guys has anyone experienced any problems or limitations in the design of this before i pull the trigger on this one? For my setup i would like to gain some added height on whatever mount i choose Liftsaver vs the MKA-47 so i can position the xi5 further back on the nose of the boat when its in the stowed (all the way back) position, especially while running rough water for added stability of TM to keep from it vibrating and flexing the fiberglass as much. So in design and function the LIFTSAVER hoists the xi5 up an extra 1-1.5" on a pedestal, with less surface space than your typical solid alum mount plate. I ask would this increase flexing, rocking and vibration overtime from the torque of this motor and the waves of the water. Also the dimensions on the Liftsaver mount? Anybody have these or have this mount on a 2010 z7 and can you install this without having to cover the nav light hole.

As always thank you for the help.

R&R design in Terrell Tx is the maker of the skeeter slide mount. Very nice well built unit. It slides back 7 inches and locks when loading or unloading boat. Slides forward 7 inches to use trolling motor. NO MORE HITTING ROLLER LOADING AND UNDLOADING BOATS for the trolling motors that have to be past bow to use.

When I sized the RandR plate it was the biggest plate of all of and will require me to move the nav light.

I would advise anyone buying a liftsaver to tell Ron you want an extra locking pin. It cost an extra $10 but it helps a good bit.

One thing to remember when using any terrova or Xi5 type motor is if you have a factory boat cover without the slide bracket installed the cover may no longer fit (depending on how tight the factory cover fits prior to install) . Also, if you use a sliding mount and the mount raises the height of the trolling motor while in the stowed position the boat cover may not fit as well. How do I know ......................ugh. That is why I went with the R&R design this time around. I have owned 5 terrrova on all my boats.

This is the LiftSaver mount I used to mount my Xi5 on my Nitro Z8. It works great for me, pull a couple of pins lift and and it is out of the way when I launch my boat.

I am also running the Xi5 with the lift saver trolling motor mount. Very pleased with the setup. The mount does not come predrilled which allows you to use your existing mounting holes. This also gives you some wiggle room to adjust the mount to best suit your particular boat.

I used the Liftsaver mount for my Xi5. Pull a couple of pins and the trolling motor can be lifted up and it swivels back away from the nose of the boat providing plenty of room during launching off the trailer works for me. Here is a link to their site..

I used Teflon lubricant and haven't had a problem since.
