    Best umbrella rig reel?

I'm using a Curado 300 and it works great.....just a little heavy using it all day. Any better options?

    Lew's Super Duty

I recommend you try the Lew's Super Duty. I got tired of lugging an A-rig with my Curado 300, so I pulled the trigger on a Super Duty and couldn't be happier. It holds enough line to lob an A-rig pretty far and it stands up to the rigorous abuse. Everything in this reel is heavy duty yet it only weighs 7.8oz. I HIGHLY recommend this reel. And it says right in the description that it's ideal for umbrella rigs.

I've got a lews super duty I've used the last couple years I've been happy with for my heavy duty stuff.

I'm also pretty sure I'm about to get blasted by the BBC mafia, but the new Quantum Smoke HD has impressed me so much I've actually got a couple more on order. Im a total Lews fanboy too. I think the Quantum casts lighter weights much much better than the super duty but it's designed for the heavy stuff like A Rigs, flipping, and super deep cranks.

I use a Lexa 300 for it, haven't had any issues with it and have caught well over 1000 striper using an a-rig with this reel

Hmmm....FWIW, it looks like the OP wants this next rec to be lighter, smaller in size, etc., than the current CU 300 that he is using.

I throw mine on a 200E7, handles em just fine (1/8 or 1/4 oz heads, 3.8 Fat Impacts). That 300E is a tank for Umbrellas, but the 200E will do just fine as long as you arent throwing big weights and swimbaits

I would think the new 300 Tranx would be sweet for it also.

I've got a 300D that I picked up for Arigs and swimbaits but like you I found it to be to heavy. I use a plain ole CU200B for my Arigs and a Lews wide spool for my bigger swimbaits (up to like 3 oz). If I was going to get a new reel for these applications I'd probably just pick up a Lews inshore ($129, 7.2) or a Daiwa Coastal ($229, 8.1oz)
