Anyone have a report on the state of affairs at Crocker?

Drove by there Monday dan. There was a giant pile of shit along the north side of the lot at the top of the ramps. I personally will never launch there again, I'm not dumping my rig in shit filled water......

They have been working this week on dredging out all of the "muck" (mainly feces) that has clogged the ramps. Until they put in some sort of break wall or divider to keep all of the spillway discharge from flooding into shore, this is going to be a constant problem. The DNR really needs to get a handle on this issue or access to the lake will be even more restricted, making Harley Ensign and possibly 9 mile even more of a cluster than what they are now. I really wish the DNR would have purchased the old Gino's Surf location and turned that into a ramp

I'm with ya on this. I wish they'd open BH to non SCS residents. I'll just keep using 9 mile or Harley.

I launched at 9mile last May and that had to be the shallowest ramp I've ever used

Never had an issue. You talking depth or ramp angle?

Ramp angle is a tad bit shallow. Glad I have a step on my trailer, but it also is useful to back in as close as possible to the dock.

That's for sure. I launched there last Sunday and with the water being so high right now, I had to have the entire tail pipe of my truck submerged just to get the boat to float.

If it survived the East winds of the last few days it should be fine.

Is this literal " sh!t" ? Put my boat in there in past and trailer bunks were covered with some sort of gunk. Figured it was algae. Where does the feces come from? Discharge from the south of ramp? Not good if that is raw sewage.

Yes sir, and most of it comes from oakland county storm sewers. When we get heavy rains, they dump raw sewage into the storm drains so peoples basements don't back up. This is the cliff notes version of what is going on. I've lived in the area for 17 years and this is the worst I've ever seen it. I'm not saying it is all shit, but a good percentage of it is. There's lots of info on this if ya wanna do some reading. Google save lake st. clair.....I don't recommend launching there until it is cleaned up, and who knows when that will happen.
