H22B
Anyone run with a 175 SHO ? What speeds do you run ?

I'd bet you could get pretty close to 57 or 60 when set up right.

I just bought one with an F200. Seeing about 53 right now with the stock powertec prop but its junk. It quits gaining speed after about 5300-5500 rpm. Only have 5 hours on the boat right now so i am planning on either a trophy or tempest in the next few weeks.

Currently have a 150 on the boat , with a 6inch jack plate. What plate do you recommend ? Thinking of putting a hydo plate.

I have the h20b with a 10inch hydro with a 150 I'm running 53 now with the crappy power tech. Everything I read about these hulls says the bigger the plate the better.

I have a H22B with the 200SHO, 10" Atlas Hydraulic, running a Mercury Tempest 22p prop . 60mph @ 6000 RPM.

And there yall have it. Can't get better than that. No need to mess around with all kinds if props wasting money and time. Biggest plate your wallet can afford and a tempest, pro series or trophy and go fishing

Thanks I'll get a 10" plate

Ready to pull the trigger on a 22' and the VF175 SHO. 10" hydro jack plate is the way to go?? I understand the further back off the transom you get, the more leverage the engine has to lift the bow. Does the 175 need the 10" setback for best performance? Any guesses on what pitch to start with on the prop?

Yes get minimum 10" setback with any motor. Xpress hulls like as much as you can get. I'd say 21pich or somewhere close. That all depends on the prop though but 21 should get you close

My 2015 H22B with a Yamaha F175, 6" plate came very over-propped with a 21 PowerTech. Could not get into upper rpms at all with even a light load and bogged badly. I got a lot of good info and advice from others on this forum and seapickle especially. I dropped to a 19 and made a world of difference all around, able to get about 55-58mph an hit proper rpms. Ended up going to a ported 4 blade Power Tech in 17 pitch. Lost a little top end but WOW, it sure jumps out of the hole in skinny water! Have used it all along the Texas Gulf the last two years, in-shore and some off-shore. Not the same as a heavy glass boat but mine had to compromise as a "do all" boat for fresh and salt fishing.

Which model 3 blade prop were you running? I currently have the same setup with a 21 powertech on a F150. My top speed light is 52 gps but loaded its 50 mph. I am wondering if a 19 pitch will be better for me.
