    Solix update 3.0300 4/17/17 **Fantastic**

    In a nutshell:

    Perfect touch response.
    Faster screen response.

This is on-the-trailer, not on the water.

Humminbird, thanks for getting this update out so quick, and having it work so well.

Just out of curiosity, what version was your SOLIX prior to this update?

I did that's why I asked. I thought it odd to have a update when the units are so new and so few have shipped. Also saw another post for the Onix with the same 3.030.

Adding additional features and fixing glitches can happen at any time after a product is released.

The SOLIX is the new ONIX so they basically have the same software. Both had 3.000 before.

    Please forgive the newbie questions

I didn't see anything in the update notes saying you couldn't do this in simulation mode
Does restore defaults work in simulation mode?
Can you export your data/settings while in simulation?

Can you do the update off the water in standard mode as long as transducer is connected without damaging anything?

Generally, if it doesn't say NO to simulator mode, you can update in sim. BUT, I NEVER DO OR WOULD! Why risk being the Ginny pig.

The real answer is to your last question... yes, you can do Backup, Restore Defaults, Update on the trailer in the garage without hurting anything.

I updated my Onix and Solix in my office with just the power plug connected and no problem. Have done the Onix this way several times and not had a problem. I have never done updates in the simulator mode.

I did notice it didn't save my favorite/custom screen views

still better than trying to remember all my settings

i'm really hoping they improve the update process. you should be able to insert the sd card into any networked unit and have the entire system updated including any accessories.

Curious on what your definition is on "perfect touch..." Is the touch response better than Onix? I have been an Onix owner since the beginning and have been disappointed with the touch response. 3.0 helped a bit, but still nowhere near that of an iphone/ipad/galaxy, etc... (I would consider those as close to perfect that is currently available in a multi-touch setting).

Is Solix touch response better than Onix? From what I have experienced on Solix before 3.03 is that it has a long way to go to achieve "perfect touch response". Am I missing something? How would you compare the touch response to that of a modern day cell phone or tablet?
