Looking to get a jack plate for my Astro. Anyone have any recommendations as far as size. I have 150xri. Thanks JW

Those boats were designed to run best without a plate but over the years that has been proven to be wrong. With the power you have I would be Loki g at no more than a 6" plate.

So is a plate worth it?

Yes it is. When you put it in you need to raise your motor 1/2-3/4 of and inch higher.

What improvements should i hope to see?

You might lose a tad on hole shot but should have improved handling. Moving the prop back to some cleaner water should allow the prop to bite better and improve top speed.
