    Launch boat with single powerpole?

Does anyone use a single powerpole to dock your boat? Would it hold in place while you park? Or is it always best to tie off. Thanks.

With a single pole you better tie off if you dont want your boat banging off the dock..

If you beach it one will be fine. I loosely tie up even with two.

You still need to plan with the wind and have a rope to tie off the bow after it swings away from the dock. Like said before, beaching is ok with just one.

I have one pole and I usually tie off just as a precaution. If there is absolutely no wind at all and I'm just going to park the truck then maybe not. The front end will spin if the bait isn't beached. If like to have another pole but just don't want to lay out that much cash for it.

I use a single talon, same concept, I tie off one rope froma bow clear. I like to push the boat a way from the dock far enough that the wind or waves won't let it bump the dock while I'm parking my truck, as long as there's no other boats at the landing

My single pole kind of pulls my boat back and to the side a little so if I pull up to a dock and pole down the bow will instantly swing away from the dock.
