getting on plane help, prop help

Hello BassCat guys, I need some help with getting on plane.

    2000 Pantera 3 Merc 200hp EFI

So with a full tourney load (gas full, partner, gear, livewells full) I am having issues getting up on plane without my partner having to get on the front deck to help drop it down. Without a full tourney load getting on plane is no issue. Not exactly sure what prop I have, or jackplate height. I have had this boat since last Aug but have not dialed her in quite yet. Recent hand surgery has hindered me, until now. I was told this boat is setup for top speed, not getting up on plane. I have had her to 69mph at 53-5400 rpm if I remember right. Rarely do I have the need to go above 60mph, so top speed is not a big concern. Getting up on plane is of concern, the CA Delta can be dangerous with the nose up for a long period of time. I will be swapping out the batteries with Optima blues here soon, hope to recude weight a bit.

Any input is appreciated, and please let me know what other info is needed. Prop photo attached

I'm not a professional but looks like a 26 pitch, that's definitely set up for top speed and not full load hole shot. Hopefully someone with the same boat has a recommendation ;)

    I have a 2002 P3 with 200 Pro XS. I run a 24 Fury. Much better holeshot.

yea, you need to drop down, 24 pitch will work a lot better. try and borrow somebody's if you can and try it out.

Thanks guys. I would like to put on a power pole or talon at some point, but cannot add weight until this is remedied. Thanks again

Would 4 blade or 3 blade be better on the Fury props?

If your looking for hole shot you can't beat a 4 blade

Odds are the engine is a 2.5 block, then the smaller 4 blade is our suggestion in a 24" Trophy. You can run a 24" Fury though we never have as the prop was not available when boat was current model year. Fury props are newer than most realize.

I have the same boat and a 2.5 motor actually turning a stock 25 Bravo 4 blade with 8 holes to the max RPMs on a standard plate. Hole shot was great with tourney load too. I am going to a hydraulic Atlas plate soon is why I actually went with the 25 Bravo. Good Luck and enjoy.

The motor does seem a bit stronger than most of the 2.5's I've played with in the past. It had a
25 Trophy on it when I purchased it last year and the Bravo performs as well with a better hole shot.

Just give them the boarding pass and sit in your assigned seat. But if they ask you to leave then you better get off.

Finally got a new prop. Went with a Trophy Plus 24p, it drives like a whole different boat now! Flies out of the hole, acceleration is like a sports car, handling is completely different. I did not get to hit corners too hard or check top end because the Delta was just too windy to do it safely.

Thanks for the help, Basscat nerds!
