Jeep vs 20xd

Has anyone tried towing a 20xd with a 4 door Jeep Wrangler v6? I was thinking about buying one if would pull my boat safely. Thanks

I pulled my 20XDC with a Toyota 4-runner for little while, wasn't a problem.

I can't remember who it was now but someone was towing a 20' Bullet with that setup and got into a bad situation. The jeep is more than capable to pull it but I think the issue was with the short wheelbase.

Shouldn't be an issue...I've seen a pic somewhere of a Jeep pulling a Bullet. Maybe on Fast Bass..?

That's who it was! Didn't he end up jack knifed or close to it?

If I remember correct he had to make a quick stop and it felt like it was pushing the back of the jeep around.

I think if you are being careful you should be fine. Just pay attention to others.. I will be pulling mine some with the Jeep. Just gotta pay attention to your surroundings.

I got an 07 2 door and i pulled my bullet one time.... just once. Felt like it was gonna pick the rear up and go under the jeep and that was only if i could keep it straight. Your 4 door will be sooo much better.

Look at your jeeps tow rating. I certainly wouldn't want to be over it if you cause an accident the way lawsuits are

I was wondering the same thing. We just bought a new Grand Cherokee 4x4 with a 3.6 V-6, the tow rating is 6200#. My Ram RT tow rating is only 5050# and it has a 4.10 axle and a 395HP Hemi! I'm just not sure how good that V-6 will do on some of our mountains towing the XD (up or down). Wanted a Hemi GC but there almost none to be had unless you wanted a SRT. Not on my beer budget.
