    Sebring, Fl Lakes

Planning a trip to the Sebring area to fish, which lakes would be considered best for fishing offshore? I've already been to Poga; I am tired of fishing in less than 6ft of water all the time and would like get out on to some deeper water. Looking at the navionics web app it seems Lake Jackson, Lake June, Lake Letta, Lotela Lake, Lake Huntley, and Crooked Lake have the best looking contour lines. I don't want to waste a day graphing and fishing an unproductive lake, any advice would be appreciated, pm me if need be.

Crooked is probably the deepest. I know there are several spots 25 feet plus. But we have had no rain so all the lakes are down considerably. I think lake June is also fairly deep but not positive.

Crooked Lake has deep water springs. It's a unique lake with a steep learning curve, but it does hold nice fish.

Thanks for the replies guys, I'll eventually check them all out. I thought Crooked looked the best on a bathymetric map, it definitely will be near the top of my list.

Read the spray boat posts ... they kill it all.
And they even have a boat to 'drag' hoses underwater too.
It takes out the deeper stuff.
Hate to have any vegetation slowing down the pontoons.

Unbelievable that they would destroy deep water vegetation, nothing surprises me anymore, pretty much the whole state the way it looks. How is nobody seeing what is going on but us.

Yep, they have giant Carolina skiffs with a big center tank and pumps.
Hoses come creeping out from the middle, drape over the sides.
They troll around and drag them all over the bottom to kill deep grasses.
I'm sure the story is a great one, but it's definitely affected fishing.
First time I saw one, I was absolutely flabbergasted. Makes me sad.
