    Power trim fliud

    One quick question ,...why trim fluid goes in clear , comes out pink when go to change it in the spring ? Normal ? 1996 merc. 75 hp 0G394786 ELPTO . Power works fine , never had a problem with it .

    somebody prob put some trans fluild in it at one time or heat may change its color when operated. Are you changing trim fluid every year?

    Yes , been using Mercury trim fluid since I bought the boat . Drain & replace it every spring .

    that's good that you do this but really not needed as a yearly maintenance ,personaly I don't open tilt systems unless theres a prob ,airlocs and grit dirt chances/ good job though

    Factory used a leak detection dye in the system (originally)...

    Trim. Can a weak or bad battery cause the trim to work on its on?

    Mercury or Quicksilver Power Trim and Steering Fluid.

    In a pinch- ATF can be used (I personally do not recommend mixing).
