I don't think it is that easy. It's been discussed on here before. I think I remember it was the electronics and intake. Maybe something else, but it wasn't trivial.
Porting is different, heads are different, ECU is different. Your buddy is mistaken. Ironically, the injectors are the same.

checked on my 200 and was told ecu and heads. for a 225 add a block for a250. hydrotech told me their kit with heads will add 45 hp if I remember right
