Seems that some guys run yamis where the recommended wot range is and some like to run them over the max recommended rpm range.

So if my recommended rpm range for WOT is 5500 and I'm turning 5500 with my fury4 and 5700 with the razor 3 my motor is not straining to turn either correct?

You want to be at the highest end of the range as possible.

But where is that? Some say they run them over 6k, but the manufacturer says 5600 max.

The motor makes the most horsepower at around 6000 RPM, that's why you prop motors at the Max RPM.

Well I ran the boat with my fishing partner which is a added 350 pounds and here are results.
Holeshot was slower but not terrible with the razor3. The fury4 has better holeshot loaded. Top speed was 69.9 @ 5600 rpms. Not sure what to do. My mid 70s loaded boat sounds like a pipe dream. Lol

What did the people that designed the engine say? 4500-5500 for the one that designed mine.

Shallow-hal keep running yours at 5500 but keep to the right so you don't block traffic.

    Bubba,

I thought you were running like 75 @ 6000 rpm's, what happened? Was your tach off? I am currently running a 26 Fury on my Pro XS and getting pretty good results. I have been averaging 75 @ 5800 rpms. I'm going to try a 25p next, I need to get my rpms up.

Eatmywake my tach was off bad. I put a tiny tach on it to see how accurate it was and when my tach showed 6000 it was only running 5700. Now I'm trying to dial it in since ive added talons and 12 inch plate. I think i need to come up on my plate. i can only get 5600 with both my razor 3 and fury 4 in 26p.

That sounds about right. I was kind of curious about that. I am running a 26 Fury and can only turn it to about 5800 when I'm by myself and that is on the verge of being too high on the plate.

My speed is about 75 and hole shot suffers when loaded heavy with wells full but is probably in that 5-6 seconds range. If wells are empty and I only have a 1/2 tank of fuel, my hole shot is around 3 seconds. I just bought a 26 Tempest that was worked by Mark (27 pitched to 26 and cup added) to try and will let you know once I run it.

Mark told me i need to send my razor 3 in and let him take pitch out of it and add cup to it. So I'm curious as to what the tempest does on yours.
