    Fury 4 vs Razor 3

Ok guys I just picked up a 26p. Razor 3 and I am running a 26p. fury4 now on my stratos. Here is the set up.

2003 stratos 201pro XL with 250 Yamaha vmax 3.1L, Dual 12ft minnkota Talons
    driver 350lbs.
    50 gallons fuel
    empty livewells
12" jacklate set @ 3.75 prop to pad
    73 mph. @ 5500 rpms
    Water PSI 25 pounds
    Air Temp 72
    Water Temp 63
    Holeshot under 4 sec.

What will the Razor 3 26p do compared to this as far as holeshot and top speed. I figure I will pick up a few more rpms since this is a 3 blade? Whats your thoughts on this?

I'm not a Yamaha owner, but your WOT RPM's seem to be too low.

I raised the motor the other day to 3 inches and I gained more rpms. went to 5800 but no gain in speed. so lowered it back down. It carrys a heavy tourney load great.

The higher RPM is better for the life of the motor. Sounds like your over propped.

Ill raise it up 1/4 at a time till I get to 5700 and leave it alone. I don't run it hard anyway. I drive like an old man sometimes lol

Some of the HPDI's are 4500-5500 RPM reccomended max range. Manual tells you so. A lot of people are running at 6k, and a lot are blowing them up.

Are you running a or 4 batteries?
We have talked before and I have same boat and motor. Am watching your results to see how you like fury 4 blade.

Rev limiter should be 6150-6200. Ask Mike I'm sure he never runs his over 5500 rpm's except on weekends.

I have 4 batteries and dual talons and 12inch slidemaster. So far I love the fury 4. The handling and midrange and holeshot is crazy good. If I can turn it to 73mph @5500 I think know once I get it dialed in I hope to get mid to high 70s loaded. That's my high end goal. If I could get 74 loaded all time I'd bever happy

With your rpm's, speed and load you probably should have ran a 25 fury 4.

I thought about that, that's why I bought the razor for a summertime prop. I can send to mark and let him work his magic. From what I understand a 26p 4blade will turn about 200 rpms less than a 3 blade version and will also loose between 2-3 mph. Does this seem accurate?

Is that on his first or second power head?

OK guys here is the verdict. Same setup as in original post, only difference is air temperature was 66 and water temp is 68.

Holeshot was faster than the fury 4. I could turn 4300 before breakeven and would blow out just a bit. All pvs holes open. 1 large pvs plugs should solve the blow out issue.
Top speed was 73.2 at 5700 rpms.
    20 PSI water pressure.

    You still need less pitch.

Why would I need less pitch? I'm turning 5700 rpms and the motor has not problem turning the prop?
