It means you don't have true down imaging.

Is this a deception on Garmin ? Is there anything that can be done or has been done about this ?

After reading more on the forums about cv vs gt, some of us ended up
buying a Garmin, anyway. The consensus seems to be, Garmin is behind Lowrance
and Humminbird on down and side imaging clarity, with or without a gt transducer.

But, Garmin has great ease of us, good pricing, good mapping, great 2d and the
ability to add Panoptix on some models (if you have a CHIRP unit).

Some have been successful swapping out a cv for a gt transducer, especially if the
cv transducer was 'defective'. Cabelas' 90 day return policy might be an option?
