    Bolt Torque

What's the required torque when mounting a Yamaha to the transom of a 05 294 pro xl?

I believe 40 is correct for wood transoms. In Spookem's case, he has a composite transom.

Pretty sure it is 55 ft lbs for fiberglass hulls.

I just went back thru some older emails and found the one i asked my boat mechanic what the torque on the motor to transom was on my 2008 Stratos 285, his reply was 40 ft./ lbs.
That was for my boat maybe yours is different, 40 is what i was told.

    Yea.

Interestingly, my old jackplate said 80 ft lbs for all bolts, which would be incorrect for a Mercury.
