    Center seat

I have a 04 ZX 225. I'm thinking about taking my center seat out and making a step, maybe out of carpet and wood. Has anybody done this before and have some pictures they could share.

    Re: Center seat (cattlecreek)

I usually have the middle seat removed in my 05 zx225. I'm not sure if yours is exactly the same as mine but beneath the seat is a metal step covered in a non slip pad.

I only put the seat in if i plan on having 3 in the boat. I don't have to worry about my partner steping on it all the time then.

    Re: Center seat (SkeeterJohn)

My seat is mounted ( screwed in ) Half of the bottom seat folds down to make a step but not a very good design in my opinion. The other half of the bottom gets stepped on most of the time which is causing a rip.

    Re: Center seat (Bassbait)

Mine folds down on a hinge but i just remove the 7 screws and it's out. Perhaps they changed it a little in 05'.. snap a few pictures so we have a better idea.. my boat's in storage unfortunately.

mine is 04 zx250, but when you removed the screws is the metal plate with the non skid still there ? mine also has grab handle when you flip the seat down

Yeah, Mine has the grab handle. I'll probably just take out the bottom seat, cover a piece of plywood with carpet and cover the pull up handle.

    Re: Center seat (cattlecreek)

    Hi Guys.
I have posted this before , here is the seat removed from my 2009 SX170.
Stick on Grip mats are used to hide bolt holes and add grip.

    Cheers
    Stu.

    Re: Center seat (Skeeter ZX-190)

I had the seats in my zx225 redone and had him do the center seat a bit differently since the seam on the remaining pice of coushing in the boat always seed to fail on the zx225 I had him do the cushion so there was no seam there anymore time will tell how it lasts. I would have done away with it but every so often ill take 3 people.

    Re: Center seat (tmcustoms)

    Hi Guys.
Thanks for the kind coments , I got the Stick on Ruber Grip Mats form a Boat parts shop , Im pretty sure you can get them In BLack ,Grey and White , you get 2 in a pack.
I cant remember the company name , but will find out , it has 3M Adheisive on them and may even be made by 3M ???? so you should be able to get them in the U.S.A , it sells for $18.00 Aust. or about $16.00 U.S , let me know if no one in the U.S has them.
No signs of peeling or lifting so far , have also fitted them on the end of the rod locker ,replacing the original Black Skeeter one .
It makes getting from the front deck to the back deck and back again while fighting a 30 to 60 lb fish that loves to do laps around the boat easy.
    Cheers.
    Stu.

Re: Center seat (Stu. Ozi Skeeter)

Has anyone found these mats that Stu. used on this boat? I took my center seat out and would like to put the same thing down to cover the holes.

    Thanks

Mine is exactly like this....already ripped....

Eventually your seat will look like this, or at least mine does....
