Brand of pumps in a legend
Guys I'm looking to get a couple spare 1000gph bilge cartridges. Does anyone know what brand and model legend uses. I assume they are Johnson since mine are black and red in color. Other than that I don't anything else I just shined a light in my bilge and couldn't see any tags or stamping on the pumps. Also if you know the correct info for the live well pumps I'd appreciate it. 2012 211

i replaced the recirc/fill - it was 1000gph. I believe all the pumps are the same (1000gph). That said, the housing is the same, so its not going to hurt anything if you put a 1000 where a 750 was - you'll just get more water.

So we can put 1000 rules for all the pumps? Everything will be ok?
-
Yes housing the same just the motor output changes

I have an alpha 199 still ok? If so I'm going to upgrade to the 1000 rules

You can upgrade to the 1000GPH Mayfair/Johnson, but not to a Rule brand pump. They use a different housing. I don't know why you would want 1000GPH for all your pumps, overkill and uses more energy.

the difference between 750 and 1000 is 0.2 amps (3amps vs 3.2 amps respectively). i agree 750 is probably more than enough for livewell. mine shipped with 1000s (alpha 199). I will say, since this is also the pumpout pump, 1000 is probably still the better choice.

Good thread, very informative.

I do have a 1000 for the livewell fill/pumpout. Dual 750's for the aerator.

A local shop told me that because I have a digital panel that putting 1000s in will either trip breakers or fuses.

^^^I'm going to agree with thedude^^^
I can't see Legend using a smaller gauge wire for 750 pumps at 3 amps. They are using a large enough gauge wire to handle 3.2 amps for 1000gph pumps as well as the 3.0 amps 750gph pumps.
