Johnson check engine light.

It's a 1998 triton tr19. The motor is a Johnson 150 model J150ILECR, serial number G04421911. At start up and idle I get a check engine light and beep. At WOT the light goes out and then comes back on when I drop to an idol. Any suggestion on where to start looking? Could it be a fuel issue?

Need to start by finding out what the code is. Have to hook up a laptop with Evinrude diags on it.
